Around the Peloponnese: Lonely Capes, Ancient Sites and Sailing Away from Mass Tourism

25 October 2026 · 5 min read · Christian Köhler

Spring is the most beautiful time to sail around the Peloponnese. The bays are empty, the hills are in bloom and the wind is strong enough for real sailing days. Our route starts in Pomer on the Croatian coast – and leads in several stages once around the peninsula and back.

Long passages as an experience

Two longer passages are part of it: across the Adriatic, past the Bay of Kotor, into the Ionian Sea. Anyone who has never spent a night at sea will experience watch changes under a starry sky and a sunrise in the middle of the water. Everyone is part of the crew – no experience needed, we learn together.

Capes, myths and antiquity

In antiquity, Cape Tainaron was considered the entrance to the underworld, and Cape Malea was feared by seafarers. Today both are spectacular landmarks on our route. In between lie detours to the Oracle of Delphi, Athens and the Cyclades with Santorini and Mykonos – before we head back via the Tremiti Islands.

We don't sail from harbour to harbour, but from story to story.
