"Humanity would achieve more if, instead of praising equality, it counselled respect for the wonder of diversity."
If there is one thing we have learned on our expeditions, it is that our strongest teams bring together different skills, perspectives, genders, sexual orientations, religions and characters. With respect for every individual, it is our expedition leaders' job to forge a real team. By the book, safety always comes first, closely followed by the individual wishes of our crews. We take care of that in every respect - promised!
It is not always easy, and of course we don't always succeed. Still, striving to get better every time, we try to keep the footprint of our journeys as small as possible. We reduce waste when shopping, repack wherever possible and dispose of waste properly before setting off, use as little fossil fuel as possible, and like to cook regional, organic and - if the crew agrees - vegetarian / vegan. We respect living creatures and their habitats, try to interfere as little as possible and protect our unique marine ecosystems wherever and however we can.

We accompany and lead individual adventure expeditions – as skippers at sea and as scouts on land – on the water under sail as sailing trips with an expedition character, and on land with 4x4 vehicles through terrain that is sometimes hard to reach. Our focus is on demanding regions off the beaten track in the Global South, which place high demands on team spirit and risk awareness.
We are not tied to one ship. Depending on the area and route, we sail worldwide on different boats – from comfortable catamarans to sportier sailing yachts. We choose the right boat for each area, from the Caribbean and the oceans of our planet to the island worlds of Oceania.
On land we travel in 4x4 and off-road vehicles – for example in Sub-Saharan Africa down to South Africa and Namibia, Australia and New Zealand. Where necessary we drive on tracks away from the main routes and stay close to nature overnight.
Our groups consist of 6 to 10 people. That keeps us flexible, and everyone is an active part of the team. Our journeys are intense and not made for the masses. Encounters with people and nature are intended and should stay genuine.
No. Sailing or off-road experience is not required – curiosity, team spirit and a taste for adventure are enough. You will learn everything else from us along the way. We take every team member's needs into account, discuss in detail before the trip what to expect and set shared limits.
You don't need expedition experience, but the right attitude: team spirit, humour and a willingness to do without fully organised hotel comfort. On our journeys everyone is a full crew member. If you enjoy being outdoors together, experiencing nature and people authentically and taking the unexpected in your stride, you are exactly right with us. Before every confirmation we talk in detail so that crew and route fit together perfectly.
